Los Angeles Rams: Top 5 Undrafted Free Agents Who Could Steal Roster Spots in 2024

Omar Speights tops the list for a combination of two reasons. The Rams depth at the linebacker position is suspect behind Ernest Jones. Speights may also be the best prospect for the UDFA group.

Speights is a compelling athlete for an undrafted player. His 1.58 10-yard split and 10′ broad jump speak to an explosive athlete. His seven tackles per game point to his athleticism, but also a high football IQ. While his LSU tape shows that, his Oregon State tape is more impressive, especially in 2022 when he racked up eight tackles for loss.

The Rams sweetened the deal with a $9000 signing bonus, which ups the odds he ends up on the 53-man roster.

Anthony Goodlow, DT, Oklahoma State

Similarly to Speights, Anthony Goodlow benefits from weak depth at his position. The defensive line is a shell of its former self and is in full rebuild mode centered on Kobie Turner in his sophomore season. Goodlow is a well-rounded defensive lineman, adept at getting quarterback pressure and defending his gap assignments. At 6’5″ and 283 lbs he is also one of the Rams more imposing figures.

Goodlow was the recipient of a $20,000 signing bonus.

Kenny Logan Jr., DB, Kansas

Kenny Logan matches the new style of defensive back that the Rams have been adding since Aaron Donald’s retirement. Bigger more physical types of that don’t mind getting their hands dirty. Logan has logged over 300 tackles in his last three seasons. In 2023, he compiled seven tackels for loss, six passes defended and 28 run stops.

The Rams only added one DB through the draft and are trying out five through the UDFA class. If Logan can play at his high level but with more discipline, he is a shoe in to make the final 53.

Justin Dedich, OL, USC

Justin Dedich’s fate was tied to a very inconsistent USC Trojan’s team. Unfortuneately, he didn’t follow up a strong 2021, in 2022 or in 2023. In 2021 he allowed just 5 pressures and didn’t allow a sack in his college career until 2023. On the upside, he has shown the ability to play at a high level. Luckily for Dedich, he won’t need to fight for a starting position on day one. He will have time to develop with the Rams interior offensive line firmly intact for the next three season.

Drake Stoops, WR, Oklahoma

One may assume that being the son of Bob Stoops would guarantee a spot on the OU football team. That wasn’t the case for Drake Stoops. He was offered scholarships to other schools, but decided to walk-on to the Sooners squad. He eventually earned a scholarship for himself and became one of the top offensive weapons for the team. He caught 84 passes last season, 39 more than the next Sooner. He finished 2023 with 962 yards receiving and 10 touchdowns.

Demarcus Robinson , Tutu Atwell, and Ben Skowronek are all free agents after the season. The Rams brought on three UDFA receivers, one will have a chance to make the final roster, if not this year then next year.
